When he first opened A&L Plumbing and Heating back in the fall of 1975, Lewis Ehrlich decided the "key" passed down to him by a hardworking and reputable Bronx plumber—his father Ben— would be the same one used to unlock his second-generation plumbing and heating business.

"Really care. Care about people, and care about the work you do," Lewis' dad said.

Now, nearly 35 years and countless satisfied A&L customers later: That philosophy of caring remains the A&L way. As "Lou" kept on for more than two decades with the ideals taught by his dad, so does his son Paul—the third generation of plumbing and heating experts to proudly carry on the A&L name—now continue in the family footsteps.
